Anvil Point Lighthouse is situated near Swanage, in Dorset, England.
It was constructed in 1881 by Trinity House to warn ships away from the treacherous waters near the headland. The structure stands 40 feet (12 meters) high and was fully automated in 1991.
Standing on the cliff edge, the raw persistence of this light against the relentless sea truly captivated me. I wanted to capture that enduring strength, the quiet dedication of stone and glass watching over the waves.
The original artwork is ink and Windsor & Newton watercolour paints on Saunders Mill NOT 300 gsm watercolour paper. Signed and numbered.
