Sean Briggs sketch | Limited edition fine art print from an original drawing.

Chanterelles are highly prized edible fungi, known for their distinct apricot-like aroma and peppery flavor. They are mycorrhizal, forming a symbiotic relationship with tree roots, which is why they are notoriously difficult to cultivate commercially. A key distinguishing feature of true chanterelles (Cantharellus cibarius) is their blunt, vein-like ridges running down the stem, not true gills.
I remember the moment I found this perfect cluster nestled among the moss—a fleeting glimpse of autumnal magic. Capturing their delicate, ruffled texture in black and white preserves the quiet beauty of the forest floor forever.
