Coach Horse Beetle sketch | Limited edition fine art print from an original drawing.

The Devil's Coach Horse beetle (Ocypus olens) is a large species of rove beetle known for its defensive behavior of arching its abdomen over its back, similar to a scorpion. Despite its fearsome appearance, it is actually a beneficial predator in gardens, helping to control pests like slugs and snails. It is nocturnal and possesses wings, although it rarely flies, preferring to scuttle quickly across the ground.
