Corfe Castle dates back to the 11th century, founded by William the Conqueror. The castle was largely destroyed in 1646 by Parliamentarian forces following a siege during the English Civil War. It sits strategically atop a steep hill overlooking the village of Corfe in the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset.
I find so much majesty in ruins; the way the light catches the broken edges of Corfe Castle tells a powerful story of endurance. This piece is more than just stone and shadow; it’s capturing a moment of timeless, silent history that will anchor any room it graces.
