Dartmoor Ponies are one of the nine native British pony breeds, known for their sturdy build and gentle nature. They have inhabited the wild, harsh environment of Dartmoor in Devon, England, for centuries, with archaeological evidence suggesting their presence since the Bronze Age. Their thick coats and manes help them adapt to the challenging, often wet and cold, moorland terrain, making them exceptionally hardy.
When the wind whips across the tors, these creatures stand their ground, embodying the rugged spirit of the moor. I wanted to capture that shared resilience, the quiet bond formed against the enormous, grey sky, making this piece a true testament to survival.
