High Laithe is a traditional field barn located near Grimwith Reservoir in the Yorkshire Dales. Grimwith Reservoir is one of the oldest in the country, originally constructed in 1864, and later expanded in the 1980s. These traditional field barns, or 'laithes', were historically used to store hay and house cattle during the winter months.
I sat by the water's edge, feeling the quiet history seep into the stones of the old barn. Capturing these fleeting moments of solitude is why I draw, hoping to bring a piece of this peace into your home.
