The Middle White Pig originated in the UK in the 19th century, resulting from a cross between the Small White and the Large White breeds. They are renowned for their characteristic dished face, pricked ears, and are traditionally considered best suited for high-quality pork production rather than bacon. Due to declining populations, the Middle White is currently listed as a "Minority" breed by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
I captured the enduring serenity of this creature's profile, finding profound beauty in the subtle textures of its skin and the quiet dignity in its expression.
