The subject is a small, remote stone chapel often found in rural landscapes. Historically, these chapels provided spiritual refuge to isolated communities in remote, mountainous, or moorland areas. Many of these structures were constructed during the 18th and 19th centuries using locally sourced stone. The robust stone construction was designed to withstand the harsh, exposed weather conditions of the British countryside.
I sat in the damp grass for hours capturing the solitude of these ancient stone walls, feeling as though time had stood still just for me. Every stroke of my pen was an attempt to preserve the quiet strength that these weathered bricks have held against the winds for generations.
