The Winchester City Mill is one of the oldest working watermills in the United Kingdom. It is situated on the River Itchen in the heart of Winchester, Hampshire. The current building dates from 1744, although a mill has stood on the site since at least the Domesday Book of 1086.
Standing beside the steady flow of the Itchen, capturing the rugged geometry of this ancient structure felt like connecting directly with a thousand years of history. This sketch holds the quiet, persistent rhythm of the waterwheel, a perfect reminder of heritage and timeless utility.
