The Blue-headed Wagtail is a small passerine bird in the wagtail family Motacillidae and is a subspecies of the Yellow Wagtail. They are migratory birds, typically breeding in Europe and wintering in sub-Saharan Africa. They are frequently seen walking on the ground, wagging their tails constantly, which is thought to help flush out insects.
