Brown bears (Ursus arctos) are found across large parts of northern Eurasia and North America, making them one of the most widely distributed bear species. They are known for the large hump of muscle over their shoulders, which provides tremendous strength for digging and running. Despite their massive size, these powerful creatures are excellent swimmers and can run at speeds up to 30 mph (50 km/h).
I captured the intense concentration in the bear's eyes in Whipsnade zoo, focusing on the powerful structure of its shoulders and neck. This piece aims to convey the raw, untamed spirit of the bear, freezing a moment of quiet, majestic power in time.
