House Martins are small passerine birds in the swallow family that build cup-shaped nests from mud pellets. They are migratory birds that spend their winters in sub-Saharan Africa and breed across Europe and temperate Asia. These birds are highly beneficial as they consume vast quantities of flying insects, helping to control local pest populations.
I watched these two companions return to their nest, their silhouettes perfectly captured against the silence of the evening sky. Capturing this quiet moment of devotion reminds me why I fell in love with drawing nature in the first place.
