Siskins (Spinus spinus) are small passerine birds in the finch family. They are partial migrants, often irrupting southwards in large numbers during autumn and winter when food supplies fail further north. Their diet mainly consists of conifer seeds, especially spruce, but they also eat seeds from alder and birch trees.
I caught the delicate movement of this tiny traveler perched briefly on a mossy branch, capturing the fleeting moment before it took flight again. Every fine line attempts to hold the fragile energy and wild beauty of this vibrant little bird.
