Quoits, also known as dolmens, are megalithic tombs typically consisting of two or more vertical stones supporting a large flat capstone. These ancient structures date back to the Neolithic period, often constructed between 4000 and 2500 BC. While often referred to as tombs, many are considered ceremonial or ritual sites used by prehistoric communities to mark their ancestral lands.
As I sat on the windswept moor, the ancient stones seemed to whisper stories of a time long forgotten by history. Capturing the raw, enduring spirit of this landscape on paper felt like connecting with the ancestors who first placed these giants here.
